Culturally, the community performs most of its activities like cooking or celebrations while seated on the ground. The community does not furniture instead they use mats.
To preserve the city, the local inhabitants established the reliance on groundwater from the palm yards surrounding the city. No plants are allowed inside the city because all plants require irrigation that posses a risk to the city foundations.
To maintain the earthen architecture, the buildings have to be whitewashed annually, and mud plastered every decade by the inhabitants and local master builders that posses generation structural knowledge.
