Consideration: This design required the resident to have a strong awareness of the fire safety of the building. Residents must understand that they should not block the major escape route. This design requires routine management work of checking the use states of the corridor.
Target community:
1. Community with a central communal space close to each building unit.
2. Community with an extensive renovation budget.
3. A renovation plan with a future expansion.
Consideration: The design should be agreed upon by the residents of the whole community, especially those from the ground floor and second floor. This design might impact their visual privacy and sunlight condition. Extra benefits can offer to them, if necessary.

Option 3: Extension of Communal Corridor
Extend the communal corridor to create a semi-public space for residents on the same floor. The residents can DIY their rooms in front of their homes.
Target community:
1. Community has a communal corridor on one side of the building.
2. Community with an extensive renovation budget.
3. Residents who love to use the corridor as their personal space.
Consideration: This design required the resident to have a strong awareness of the fire safety of the building. Residents must understand they should not block the major escape route. This design requires routine management work of checking the use states of the corridor.
