Toolkit 2:
Waste Management
China has established a new waste management rule.
In Shanghai, The Shanghai Household Waste Management Regulation was passed by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress on January 31, 2019.
Now in Shanghai, you need to sort your garbage in 4 different classes:
-
household food waste
-
residual waste
-
recyclable waste
-
hazardous waste

Option 1: Communal Waste Management Station
Target User: Community required waste management regulation.
Location: Communal Space
It is necessary to consider the location of the station. The station should be located in a communal space and close to each building unit. It is better to surround by trees to reduce the impact on residents enjoying the communal space. For residents' safety, it is necessary to prevent the station located by the main driving path.
