In this residential area, most of the elevated roof insulations have been damaged. The water storage tanks at the top of the staircases have also been abandoned. The roof area of a single building is limited. The largest one is approximately 260 sqm. Due to the maximum building separation distance being 9m, it is easier to connect these roofs to form a larger space that can serve multiple functions.

The renewal roofs provide more green spaces and gathering spaces that are insufficient in the original design of this residential area. The link bridges break the original single-direction architectural sequence and enrich the architectural form of the community.

Normally, the original structure cannot carry a large area of deep overburden. Thus, the planters for small trees that require at least 800mm soil depth should be arranged on the top of columns that have a larger bearing capacity.
