This is a residential area located in the central business district of Guangzhou. Since 2000, the ground floor of this community has become a completely open and noisy commercial street. The original communal outdoor spaces were occupied by tourists. Residents had to live with the fact that the community's facilities were in the same space as the commercial street. Now, residents are still trying to find their own spaces in the commercial street.

If the ground space cannot be reverted to original functions that belonged to the community, renewal of the roof spaces can be a solution for the lack of communal spaces in this community. There is 3,800 sqm of roof spaces in this community. They have no function and are not occupied.
