Toolkit 23: Sunlight at Choi Hung
Problem:
Each units at Choi Hung Estate lacked adequate natural sunlight access. Through implementing the toolkit, we included the following solutions:
1. Increasing total window area with new openings
Action of toolkit:
- Larger windows replaced original half height windows
- New openings created below overhead windows to increase window area
Needs of resident's for application:
- In seek of a brighter living environment
- Reduction of long term energy cost as increased sunlight means decrease usage of artificial lighting during the day

- Rearrangement of internal layout to improve sunlight pathway
