Toolkit 25: Outdoor at Choi Hung

Problem:

Communal outdoor spaces at Choi Hung estate are dominated by retail shops catering to improve the convenience of local residents, however, as these retail spaces haven't been renewed since the estate opened many of these spaces are old and are not visually pleasing, therefore, renewing these retail spaces are a key priority in improving a better experience when accessing these spaces.

1. Revitalizing outdoor spaces to modern standards

Action of toolkit:

- Create new false ceilings to hide unsightly pipes and services and inject the estate's identity of colour at an intimate level

- Installation of new lighting to brighten retail spaces

- Installation of new special signage to recognise shops being opened for over 40 years at the estate

Needs of resident's for application:

- In seek of new retail spaces

- Improvement of walkway areas to be up to modern standards

- Attraction of more customers
